Themes

  • Confidence is a huge, multifaceted topic.

It’s so important take confidence in context and take into account how society and our environment plays a part. With that in mind, I’m really proud to say my work on confidence covers:

    • Imposter Syndrome - what is it? What does the research say? What can we do to feel less like an imposter?

    • The Confidence Gap - a researched phenomenon that shows women are statistically less confident than men in the workplace, what does this mean for us as individuals, as teams, as a society?

    • Growth mindset and self-trust - learning how to back ourselves to take risks and to see failure as part of the process, not a finality

    • Strengths, weaknesses and self-perception - finding greater balance in how we see ourselves, seeing weakness as human not failures to be erased, truly valuing our strengths and seeing ourselves with a gentler, kinder point of view.

  • I absolutely love working on values. It feels like the work where I see the biggest, most lasting change.

Having clarity on what we value has a knock on effect on our confidence.

If you're really clear on what your values are and what matters to you, you are empowered to hold your boundaries - you’re clear on what is good for you and what your limits are.

If I could I would coach, workshop and speak on values every day of the week. I never get tired of the lightbulb moments and impact this work has.

Specifically, I design and run session & talks that help participants to:

    • uncover their unique personal value set

    • create a shared set of values as a team or cohort

    • reflect on how to manage conflicting values when collaborating

    • uncover how they can make work or work in a way that aligns deeply with their personal values

  • Coaching is a great way of supporting teams or individuals to navigate feedback.

This work is really about helping teams or individuals understand how to process feedback, create a separation between themselves and the feedback they’re receiving, and use it as a place to grow from rather than a place to criticise and get stuck.

Specifically, I help folks process feedback from funding rejections, so they feel empowered to amend or improve their pitch and find the resilience to keep the project alive.

  • The work that I do on careers can be nicely tied to the piece around values.

Getting clear on our values, our skills and interests, combined with a focus on the different challenges individuals might be facing in their careers, how they could overcome them and what support they might need is a powerful mix to give careers a real boost.

This is always supported with goal setting and action planning to make those aligned goals a reality.

How I Work

Research based

I love using research as a basis for the work that I do. I make sure that all of the tools, techniques and processes that I'm using are tried and tested so that my sessions are as impactful as possible. I also love incorporating the latest in psychology and neuroscience when talking about confidence, resilience and creativity.

Collaborative

I really enjoy getting to know you, your aims and working alongside you to create a really special session that will have a lasting impact on the talent you work with.

Interactive

My sessions are a space for meaningful conversations to happen between participants. Those discussions are so valuable in dealing with feelings of isolation, and building community. It’s moments where experiences are shared and connections are made that creates space for collaboration to happen on a deeper level.

Participant led

While I plan my sessions carefully to create the most impact I am always open to flexing materials based on the participants in the room - is it useful to add a little more on psychological safety? Spend a little longer on a reflection? Go deeper in a breakout discussion? Let’s do it

  • Workshops can be held for groups up to 30, they blend training and knowledge sharing with hands on exercises and a coaching approach, ie: empowering the participants to find their answers in themselves.

With coaching the group or team set the agenda, they are in the driving seat - my role is to bring my expertise as a coach to help them see new perspectives, find ways forward and take actions that are deeply aligned with themselves as individuals or as a team.

  • Group Coaching

Coaching a group of individuals on a similar theme, or at a similar stage, enabling them to find personal clarity as well as build deep connections within the group, up to 6 participants.

    Team Coaching

Coaching a creative team, typically Writer, Producer and Director empowering them to co-create, embrace feedback, navigate conflict and bring their ideas to life.

  • As an experience project manager, I offer end to end programme management, as well as logistical support for any programmes you might be running and would like to bring me in on!

  • Participants numbers are limited to 6 per group or team to make sure I can work with everyone in the group equally.

  • I’ve undergone 164hs of postgraduate level training and am a member of the International Coaching Federation, you can read more here.

  • For workshops, talks, group or team coaching programmes I price per the piece of work. Every piece is different! Get in touch here to tell me what you’d love to create and I’ll send over a quote!

FAQ

Testimonials

BFI NETWORK - ALIGNED CREATIVITY

“We worked with Kate to devise a session for early career filmmakers that would help them to explore their creative voice and career path in a new and holistic way. Initially set to be in person, the session was moved online and Kate was fantastic at designing a workshop that felt energised and thought provoking in a way that was also flexible to our wider evolving programme. Our filmmakers were guided through an Aligned Creativity session by Kate exploring their personal values which then moved through an illuminating exercise in exploring purpose and how those values could positively impact their career pathways. Our filmmakers found the session incredibly helpful and were able to unlock certain ways of thinking about themselves and their career which will be hugely beneficial moving forward.”

SCREEN YORKSHIRE - FLEX INDUCTION DAY

“Kate worked with us to design and run our Flex induction day. Flex is Screen Yorkshire's unique programme designed exclusively around agile content and creativity, for producers, directors and writers. We were impressed by Kate's agility and understanding to run with this concept, and how she designed the day around what we needed. Her skill and understanding transformed a room of strangers into a focused and united cohort within a day. Focusing on shared values and manifesto work ensured our programme embraced the right tone and cohesion from the start. It's quite honestly a breath of fresh air working with Kate - she's organised and smart, but also brings creativity, humour and warmth to her person centered approach.”
